How we were Founded
Reign & Root Academy was born from both expertise and an unexpected, deeply personal calling.
For years, I worked in education—as a special educator, autism specialist, and advocate. I sat in classrooms, designed support plans, and stood beside families navigating a system that often overlooked or misunderstood their children. I thought I understood. I thought I was prepared.
Then I became the mother of neurodivergent children.
In an instant, my perspective shifted. I wasn’t just the educator anymore—I was the mom, searching for spaces where my children would be safe, supported, and seen. Spaces that didn’t force them to mask who they are. Spaces that honored their needs and celebrated their brilliance. Spaces that simply didn’t exist.
So, I created one.
Reign & Root Academy is the school I prayed for—a school with the heart of a parent and the hands of a professional. It is a neuroaffirming, Christian-based learning environment where children aren’t just accommodated—they are centered, uplifted, and taught to reign where they are planted.
With every lesson, every garden bed, every prayer, and every sensory activity, this work combines my lived experience, my faith, and my commitment to inclusion. We are not just growing learners—we are nurturing whole children in a space that was made for them, on purpose.
This is not just a job.
This is my ministry. This is my calling. This is home.
Our Approach
At Reign & Root Academy, we nurture a vibrant, student-led learning community rooted in faith, curiosity, and connection. Our program blends project-based learning, multi-sensory exploration, and culturally responsive experiences to honor each child’s natural interests, identity, and pace.
Children here are not just learning — they are discovering who they are, what they love, and how to make sense of the world around them.
We follow the curiosity of the child, guiding them through hands-on projects that spark creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Our in-home, intentionally small setting allows for calm, consistent care, deeper relationships, and personalized support that reflects each child's unique strengths.
Our Philosophy: The R.E.I.G.N. Approach
At Reign & Root Academy, we don’t just educate—we cultivate. Our philosophy is rooted in a holistic, faith-centered approach to early childhood learning, captured in the five pillars of R.E.I.G.N. These guiding principles answer the most important question: Why do we do what we do?
Readiness
Because every child’s journey is unique, we believe learning begins where they are—not where the calendar says they should be. We prepare children by honoring their individual rhythms and developmental stages, fostering a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
Environment
Because surroundings shape growth, we create spaces that are safe, welcoming, and rich with possibilities—both indoors and outdoors. Here, children are free to explore, create, and connect with the world and each other, planting the seeds for lifelong curiosity.
Interaction
Because learning is relational, we foster authentic connections among children, teachers, and families. Through intentional peer mentorship and collaborative play, children build empathy, leadership, and confidence in a supportive community.
Guidance
Because character is as vital as knowledge, our educators lead with faith, grace, and encouragement—modeling values that help children grow into compassionate, resilient individuals who walk boldly in purpose.
Needs
Because every child deserves dignity and belonging, we commit to neuro-affirming practices that celebrate diversity and provide equitable access to learning. We embrace differences as strengths, ensuring every child thrives in a truly inclusive environment.
At Reign & Root Academy, this is why we reign:
to nurture hearts and minds, empower every learner, and inspire children to flourish—right where they are planted.
A True Family Partnership
You’re not just enrolling your child — you’re joining a faith-rooted family community. We value open communication, transparency, and shared celebration. Parents are not just welcome; they are essential partners in the learning journey. We walk alongside you, affirming your voice and your child’s needs every step of the way.
How We Learn
Personalized Learning: Instruction is inspired by student strengths, cultural identity, and real-life experiences.
Project-Based & Play-Based: Children solve problems and explore big ideas through meaningful, hands-on projects.
Multi-Sensory Engagement: We engage sight, sound, touch, and movement to support deep, embodied learning.
Whole-Child Nurturing: Emotional, spiritual, cognitive, and physical growth are woven together in everything we do.
Core Values & Mindset
At Reign & Root Academy, our values are rooted in both scripture and practice. We don’t just teach them — we live them.
Stewardship – We teach children to care for themselves, one another, and the earth as part of God’s creation.
Sportsmanship – We cultivate kindness, empathy, fairness, and healthy conflict resolution.
Servanthood – We model compassion, helpfulness, and humility, encouraging children to serve others with love.
Scholarship – We spark wonder through exploration and inquiry, building strong foundations for lifelong learning.
Storytelling – We uplift every child’s voice, culture, and testimony, using language, creativity, and faith to connect and reflect.
Enrichment Experiences
At Reign & Root, enrichment is not extra — it's essential. We integrate culturally rich, creative, and hands-on activities that expand your child’s world and sense of self.
Our enrichment offerings include:
Global Art: Exploring diverse artistic styles and materials from cultures around the world.
Global Eats: Cooking and tasting foods from various regions to inspire curiosity and healthy habits.
Biblical Character Study: In our fun and faith-filled class, little ones will meet Bible heroes like David, Esther, and Noah through songs, stories, crafts, and hands-on play! Each week, we help kids learn about God’s love and grow good hearts like His—one Bible story at a time.
Music & Movement: Celebrating sound, rhythm, and dance to support motor development and joyful self-expression.
Cultural Studies: Highlighting the stories and achievements of Black and Brown inventors, artists, and leaders — past and present.
A Community That Grows Together
At Reign & Root Academy, we embrace a mixed-age, mentorship-based model that mirrors the richness of real-life learning. In our classrooms, children of different ages learn side by side—encouraging leadership, empathy, and natural peer-to-peer teaching.
This model allows younger students to learn by example, while older children deepen their understanding through mentorship and collaboration. It fosters patience, compassion, and confidence—all rooted in play and guided by faith.
We practice authentic inclusion, meaning that every child—regardless of ability—has access to the same activities, environments, and opportunities. We don’t separate learners based on labels or challenges. Instead, we build a culture where every child is valued, every voice is honored, and every gift is welcomed.
Because in our garden of growth, every child belongs. And every child blooms.
